LIB (Lightning in a Bottle), is a festival held by the Do Lab in Bradley, California. Think Burning Man meets Coachella in a dusty, foresty desert landscape with amazing art installations, workshops, music, food and artists from all over the world! Not only are all of these components inspiring, but the attendees make it even better! It’s great to be around people who are open and want to talk to and learn from each other.
This is an art installation from an artist based in San Francisco. He rents this art experience to various festivals, and it has been seen in San Francisco at the How Weird festival, as well as EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival) in Las Vegas, and will continue on to many more!
Sofi Tukker (Sofi pictured above) is a music group from New York comprised of two people, Sofi and Tukker, who play a fusion of electronic alternative pop/rock. They both sing and play the electronic guitar. Not only do they play festivals and shows worldwide, but are authentic artists and humanitarians, as well.
This was a workshop focused on the importance of meditation and the release of stress. Most people don’t know how much stress builds up in their body and becomes physical. This meditation was special in that it focused on the stressing of the body and then releasing of the body, to focus the mind and body together and then allow for its relaxation. We felt amazingly relaxed and clear-minded when finished.
This art piece is not just painted, but also carved ornately out of wood, and almost resembles a temple. We love the fusion of ancient and modern techniques.
A lot of the campers in the camping area had their own DJ/music parties and sets. Rock on!
Overall, LIB reminds us that through art, music, dancing, and festival culture, people aren’t all that different, and we can leave the conventions of the “default world” for a world much more inspirational that we can continue in our everyday lives.
