In Thailand, Koh Sak Island, near Pattaya, has a beach that I really enjoy to relax at. I love to walk along the beach barefoot and dip my feet in the water. The view of the ocean is breathtaking and the sound of the waves reaching the shore is therapeutic. The breezy air is welcomed against my face and hair. I enjoy participating in water sports and swimming. I like sitting on the sand and meditating with the sun shining on me. I feel being out in nature enhances our experience in healing our mind and bodies by calming and soothing the body. I appreciate nature in providing me great experiences to recharge my mental health.
Nature provides environments where people can heal from everyday stresses and relax their minds and bodies. There are many wellness retreats that utilize those natural environments like the mountains, forests, open fields, or bodies of water to have people unwind and recharge, while enjoying nature. When people hear sounds of nature, they can feel more relaxed and at peace. Even wellness centers in urban areas use nature sounds to provide a relaxing setting.
Taking a hike in the forests, running in the open fields, or playing in the water can really energize you. I believe taking a break from modern electronics such as TV, computers and cell phones can improve your mental health as well. What are your favorite places in nature to relax and recharge yourself?
